The thermodynamic data derived from earlier reported experimental, stu
dies are used to calculate phase equilibria in the CaO-SiO2-Al2O3 syst
em over a wide temperature range. The position of tile invariant point
s in the CaO-SiO2-Al2O3 phase diagram art, determined, and the compati
bility triangles are refined. The CaO . Al2O3 . 2SiO2-CaO . 2Al(2)O(3)
and CaO . Al2O3 . 2SiO(2)-CaO . Al2O3 tie lines do not exist In this
phase diagram; instead, the 2CaO . SiO2 . Al2O3-Al2O3 tie line is reve
aled. The 12CaO . 7Al(2)O(3) phase is not found. The results are compa
red with the data available in the literature.
