Abstract
Direct experimental evidence is presented for oxygen exchange between YBCO and the ambient atmosphere at 293 K in a narrow range of water va por pressures. Low-temperature deoxygenation of YBCO is attributed to the ability of oxygen to diffuse along channels in the orthorhombic st ructure without activation.
