Abstract
We have calculated the exchange splitting of the ground-state exciton level in cubic and hexagonal nanocrystals of the spherical shape. The theory makes allowance for both the analytic (or short-range) and nona nalytic (long-range) electron-hole exchange contributions. The results are compared with experimental data obtained on nanometer-size CdSe c rystallites. (C) 1998 Elsevier Science B.V. All rights reserved.
