An experimental and theoretical analysis of spin-wave excitations (mag
nons) in ultra-thin films of a magnetic semiconductor has been perform
ed. Cubic MnTe, which possesses a frustrated long-range antiferromagne
tic order when deposited in thick layers, was the material selected fo
r such studies. In the low-frequency part of the Raman spectra, a comp
lex structure has been observed in crossed polarization -z(x, y)z at l
ow temperature on (MnTe)(k)/(CdTe)(m) multilayers (where m greater tha
n or equal to 8). This structure can be attributed to magnons in thin
