PROJECT-MODELING IN AEC TO INTEGRATE DESIGN AND CONSTRUCTION

To answer the demand for total products from the market, AEC companies are exploring the opportunities for Design-Build and Build-Operate-Tr ansfer projects. One of the problem areas they encounter, is the integ ration between design and construction. This paper elaborates on an in tegration concept to establish computer-aided design for construction (CA DfC), The paper discusses the theoretical concept of project-model ling, outlines a corresponding computer implementation in an object-or iented environment and suggests an approach for successful organisatio nal implementation.
