Ke. Kettle et al., PRODUCTS OF MIND - EXPLORING STUDENT PREFERENCES FOR PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT USING MY WAY ... AN EXPRESSION STYLE INSTRUMENT, The Gifted child quarterly, 42(1), 1998, pp. 48-61
In this article, students' preferences for creating potential products
are explored through the use of an expression style inventory. A tota
l of 3,532 students from 45 school districts in 24 states completed su
rveys designed to assess their interest in creating a variety of produ
cts. Factor analytic procedures yielded 11 factors with alpha reliabil
ities ranging from 72 to 95. The analysis allowed examination of the c
ontent and construct validity for the instrument. The article conclude
s with practical classroom applications for the expression style inven
tory in talent development programs such as those based on the Schoolw
ide enrichment Model (Renzulli & Reis, 1985).
