Abstract
The effect of Ca(OH)(2) calcination conditions on the specific surface area and pore structure of the resultant CaO was studied, Materials w ith a large specific surface area and pore volume were obtained by vac uum calcination. Exposure to air was found to give rise to hydration a nd carbonation of CaO, accompanied by a decrease in specific surface a nd total pore volume.
