En. Korytkova et al., DURABILITY OF YBA2CU3O7-DELTA IN SOLUTIONS OF SODIUM AND POTASSIUM HALIDES UNDER HYDROTHERMAL CONDITIONS, Inorganic materials, 34(4), 1998, pp. 362-367
Durability of YBa2Cu3O7-delta in aqueous solutions of sodium and potas
sium halides (0.05-0.7 wt %) was studied at temperatures of 100-200 de
grees C pressures of 10-70 MPa, and immersion times of 0.5, 1, and 3 h
. Hydrothermal halogenation was found to improve structural perfection
of the cuprate owing to the incorporation of halide and hydroxide ion
s in the oxygen sublattice. Hydrothermal treatment under optimal condi
tions (t = 100-110 degrees C, p = 10-30 MPa, tau = 0.5-1 h) fully prev
ents water degradation of the material for a long time.
