COOPERATION PROBLEMS BETWEEN THE PRODUCTI ON AND THE MAINTENANCE DEPARTMENTS IN A CHEMICAL COMPANY - A TEAM DEVELOPMENT PROCESS

This report describes the preparations for and the execution of a ream development intervention in a large chemical company The intention wa s to alleviate cooperation and coordination problems between productio n staff and the maintenance departments or otherwise reduce the confli ct potential. The main workshop topics were: clarification and awarene ss of the common objectives; intensive discussion and analysis of spec ific problems and critical incidents; formulation of(behavior) contrac ts that are acceptable to all parties, and suitable for handling probl ems and improving future cooperation. The report closes with a summary of the project: after a little more than one year.
