The term postmodernism is impossible to define in the general case; it can be interpreted only with reference to specific fields of work or study. Even when referring to special education or behavioral disorder s, however, people are free to define virtually anything they wish as postmodern. Because postmodernism is a vague concept and a pervasive c ontemporary movement, we all may be, in some sense, postmodernists.
