Abstract
Solubility of tungsten oxide in the Y-123 phase was studied by x-ray d iffraction. We obtained a monoclinic, tungsten-containing solid soluti on, which is superconducting despite the structural dissimilarity from 123. Substitution of large amounts of tungsten for barium (YBaWCu3Ox) leads to the formation of a nonsuperconducting orthorhombic phase.
