Mv. Zamoryanskaya et al., COMPOSITION AND CATHODOLUMINESCENCE OF RARE-EARTH-ACTIVATED BINARY FLUORIDE-CRYSTALS, Inorganic materials, 34(6), 1998, pp. 622-626
BaLiF3, KY3F10, and Na0.4Y0.6F2.2 crystals activated with rare-earth i
ons are studied. The partition coefficients of some rare earths are ev
aluated, and various grown-in structural defects are identified. The a
ssignment of the cathodoluminescence spectra for KY3F10 and Na0.4Y0.6F
2.2 is presented. The luminescence buildup time in rare-earth-activate
d Na0.4Y0.6F2.2 is found to be as long as a few minutes. The time vari
ation of cathodoluminescence intensity is measured at various electron
-beam currents.
