Abstract
We have found chaotic responses observed in the capacitance-npn-transi stor pair and have clarified its mathematical characteristics and phys ical mechanism. It is a very simple circuit compared with any chaos-ge nerating circuits ever proposed and can be implemented by typical BICM OS process for integration, yet its characteristics contain many funct ions and are easily controllable. We also proposed an application of t his circuit to a neuron circuit and simulated its characteristics in d etail. The simulated results show the feasibility to realize a novel i nformation processing system such as a chaotic neural network. (C) 199 8 Elsevier Science Ltd. All rights reserved.
