A questionnaire was sent to all establishments responsible for educati ng hearing impaired children and students in Scotland. There was a 66. 7% response. The it formation is shown as raw figures which correspon ds to the questions asked and relates to the survey dare, 18th January 1996. The questionnaire was divided into the following sections: Sect ion A: General Information - names and types of establishments Section B. Teachers of the Deaf- number qualified and unqualified and number training Section C: Support Staff Section D: Children and Hearing Loss - totals divided into cohorts degrees of hearing loss and communicati on approaches used and collated Scottish Certificate of Education resu lts.
