Es. Huebner et al., FURTHER VALIDATION OF THE MULTIDIMENSIONAL STUDENTS LIFE SATISFACTIONSCALE, Journal of psychoeducational assessment, 16(2), 1998, pp. 118-134
The psychometric properties of a children's life satisfaction measure
(MSLSS; Huebner, 1994) were assessed with a middle school sample of 29
1 students. Similar to findings with elementary school students, the M
SLSS demonstrated preliminary evidence of reliability and validity for
research purposes. The results of confirmatory factor analyses suppor
ted the five satisfaction domains identified in previous research with
younger students, along with a single higher-order general life satis
faction factor. Relationships among life satisfaction domains, demogra
phic variables, and social desirability responses were discussed. Pote
ntial uses of the MSLSS and future research needs were also discussed.
