Ba. Bracken et al., ASSESSMENT OF PRESCHOOL BEHAVIOR AND SOCIAL-EMOTIONAL FUNCTIONING - AREVIEW OF 13 3RD-PARTY INSTRUMENTS, Journal of psychoeducational assessment, 16(2), 1998, pp. 153-169
This study investigated the psychometric qualities of 13 preschool thi
rd-party measures of social-emotional functioning. Most of the rating
scales were severely limited in critical and primary areas of technica
l adequacy, including standardization samples, internal consistency, s
tability, interrater reliability, ceilings, floors, item gradients, an
d evidence of validity. Instruments which most frequently met the psyc
hometric criteria were primarily recently published scales.
