Abstract
Frequency analysis is an important step to predict the dynamic perform ance of flexible mechanisms. According to the characteristics of the d osed flexible mechanisms, an efficient frequency analysis method for p lanar multi-bar and spatial linkage mechanisms by utilizing free-inter face substructure coupling technique, substructure division and the mo dal basis generation method are presented. Coupling equations for typi cal substructures are developed. Examples show that the analysis metho d presented in this paper is effective. (C) 1998 Elsevier Science Ltd. All rights reserved.
