Abstract
The hydrothermal synthesis of a novel layered zirconium arsenate, Zr(A sO4) (H2AsO4) . 2H(2)O, with gamma-type structure and preliminary data on its characterization by chemical and thermal analysis, X-ray diffr action (XRD) and ion exchange are reported. This XRD powder pattern is indexed on a monoclinic cell: a = 5.5699(2) Angstrom, b = 6.8175(4) A ngstrom, c = 12.1203(6) Angstrom and beta = 103.15(1)degrees. (C) 1998 Elsevier Science S.A.
