Abstract
A game called Black Box is a useful cool for introducing various featu res of scientific reasoning to introductory research methods classes. The rules of the game are straightforward and it uses little time, thu s allowing a real-time demonstration of processes such as induction an d deduction. Instructors can also make other analogies between aspects of che game and various concepts commonly mentioned in discussions of scientific reasoning, such as serendipity or falsification.
