The inclusion of special education students in the general education m
ainstream has created a need for consultation services to meet their e
ducational needs. The intervention assistance team (IAT) provides assi
stance to students within the general education classroom through coll
aborative efforts among school personnel from various disciplines. The
purpose of this article is to present a methodology for investigating
the effectiveness of various aspects of multidisciplinary IATs that w
as developed as part of a larger interdisciplinary preservice training
project. The application of this methodology provided information on
the participation and influence across members of preservice intervent
ion assistance teams. The benefits of this methodology are discussed.
