Abstract
In this paper, we consider the control design problem of vehicle follo wing systems with actuator delays. An upper bound for the time delays is first constructed to guarantee the vehicle stability. Second, suffi cient conditions are presented to avoid slinky-effects in the vehicle following. Next, zero steady state achieved by the proposed controller is proven. Finally, simulations are given to examine our claims.
