G. Bourhis et Y. Agostini, MAN-MACHINE COOPERATION FOR THE CONTROL OF AN INTELLIGENT POWERED WHEELCHAIR, Journal of intelligent & robotic systems, 22(3-4), 1998, pp. 269-287
In the smart wheelchair held the research problematics consists in app
lying methods coming from mobile robotics to navigation assistance for
people with motor disabilities. In this chapter we detail the constra
ints and the specificities of this application. From this study we ded
uce the need to obtain a cooperation between the human operator and th
e machine in order to achieve a mobility task. To illustrate this purp
ose, we describe a mobile robot architecture which facilitates task an
d information sharing and trading between man and machine.
