DIGITAL VIDEO BROADCASTING - TERRESTRIAL - AN OPPORTUNITY FOR THE BROADCASTING MARKET

This paper illustrates a hypothetical scenario which envisages the beg inning and growth of digital terrestrial television broadcasting. It b riefly summarises the reasons urging us to extend the 'digital revolut ion' in Europe and in the United States, from the world of telecommuni cations to that of television broadcasting. It goes on to describe a h ypothetical project for the introduction of DVB-T in Italy, which prop oses the closure of analogue television services in the year 2010.
