Abstract
The firm Frischfleisch Schlegel GmbH, Nuremberg, has been using the VP S 2000 measurement system for judging pork sides made by Bodenseewerk Geratetechnik GmbH, Uberlingen, for more than six months. On the basis of the objective measured values obtained by VPS 2000 it is possible for a supplier to determine the actual quality (that is, muscle portio n) of the pork sides delivered. Suitable agreements on price can be ma de on this basis. The advantages for supplier and customer of using th is kind of instrument are indicated.
