Abstract
A simple and sensitive method has been developed for the simultaneous determination of six new quinolones (benofloxacin, danofloxacin, diflo xacin, enrofloxacin, ofloxacin and orbifloxacin) in beef, pork and chi cken. The drugs were extracted from the meat (1.0 g) with 0.3% metapho sphoric acid (2 mi) and acetonitrile (20 mi). The supernatant was conc entrated to dryness after having been defatted with n-hexane(10 mi). T he residue was dissolved in 5 mi of HPLC mobile phase and analyzed by HPLC. The HPLC analysis was carried out on a TSK-gel ODS 80Ts column ( 4.6 x 250 mm) with 0.05 mol/L phosphate buffer (pH 2.5)-acetonitrile ( 4: 1)containing 0.25 g/L sodium octanesulfonate as the mobile phase at a flow rate of 1.0 mL/min. A spectrofluorometric detector was operate d at Ex 290 nm and Em 460 nm. The recoveries of six drugs from fortifi ed meat were greater than 80% and the detection limits were in the ran ge of 0.0025 similar to 0.05 mu g/g. This method is concluded to be us eful as a simultaneous analytical method for new quinolones in meats.
