Abstract
Although opportunities for careers in statistics continue, no database exists that tracks available positions. Since the Amstat News offers position vacancy advertisements, the Committee on Career Development f or the American Statistical Association surveyed the advertisements fr om 1990-1994. This article reports on the results. In general, the opp ortunities are increasing, especially in some subdisciplines. However, this survey does not reflect all available positions and thus contain s some biases, especially for bachelor's and master's level positions.
