KDP crystals obtained by salting-out precipitation using aqueous solut
ions of ethanol, 1- and 2-propanol at 30 degrees C, were characterised
. The dependence of the yield of precipitation and particles size on s
upersaturation is related with the stages of precipitation. The increa
se on the alcohol content promotes a decrease in yield. Ethanol and 2-
propanol have a stronger effect on crystal morphology than l-propanol,
but no differences due to the type of alcohol on yield and particles
size were clearly stated. The supersaturation increase, as well as the
decrease of the alcohol concentration or the agitation intensity favo
rs agglomeration. Smaller particles were obtained as supersaturation o
r the agitation intensity increases. (C) 1998 Elsevier Science B.V. Al
