Yn. Karavaev et al., EFFECT OF HAFNIA ON THE STABILITY OF STRUCTURAL AND ELECTRICAL-PROPERTIES OF TETRAGONAL ZIRCONIA SOLID ELECTROLYTES, Inorganic materials, 34(11), 1998, pp. 1094-1097
The effect of HfO2 on the structural and electrical stability of solid
electrolytes based on tetragonal zirconia was studied. Long-term hold
ing of HfO2-containing ceramics at 450 degrees C was found to lead to
the formation of a monoclinic solid solution. As a result, the conduct
ivity of the ceramics decreases, primarily because of an increase in g
rain-boundary resistivity.
