Abstract
A question is raised as to how to estimate the probability that the teams in a conference will end the season with records that form a .perfect progression..Under the simplifying assumption of equally likely outcomes the answer can be obtained by counting techniques.A computer program is available to estimate the probability of a perfect progression under the more realistic assumption that there is variation in the relative strengths of the teams.Examples are given based on historical data from the Big Eight conference.
