Abstract
In elementary statistics courses, one begins with the fundamentals of probability. Instructors have difficulty in providing students with interesting and realistic practical applications, since most such examples are far too complicated for early presentation. This note offers one real life example that led to Florida's first cocaine possession conviction without physical evidence. The main argument centered on probabilities.By sharing this example, it is hoped that instructors can make this portion of their courses more meaningful.
