Salaries of professional baseball players have risen dramatically since 1975.Now, most mediocre players make far more than the president of the United States.This study measures the impact of individual players' statistics on the revenues generated by the clubs, and makes individual adjustments for each team.If the clubs are to operate at a break-even level (many do not), a realistic model must be established to monitor and control salary levels.This study suggests and develops models to estimate a player's true value to his club.
