Abstract
The assessment of potential risk to humans resulting from exposures to chemicals has traditionally been based on safety factors applied to no-observed-effect levels in animals. The magnitude of the safety factor reflects the combined uncertainties in the determination of no-observed-effect levels, animal-to-man conversion factors, and the estimation of human exposures. In the case of 2,4,5-T, sufficient data exist in each of these three areas to make informed scientific decisions.
