Communicating the likelihood of contracting a sexually transmitted dis
ease (STD) is an important objective for instructors teaching particul
ar psychology courses. This article describes a classroom demonstratio
n for stimulating consideration of personal vulnerability for contract
ing an STD during one's lifetime. The demonstration utilizes class par
ticipation, holds student interest, stimulates subsequent class discus
sion, and has resulted in generally positive feedback from students.
