K. Sangwal et al., ON THE GROWTH HILLOCK VICINALITY AND NORMAL GROWTH-RATES OF THE (101)FACE OF KDP CRYSTALS, Journal of crystal growth, 194(2), 1998, pp. 214-219
The experimental data reported by De Yoreo et al. [Phys. Rev. Lett. 78
(1997) 4462; J. Crystal Growth 182 (1998) 442] on the dependence of t
he inclination p of growth hillocks on the (1 0 1) face of KDP on supe
rsaturation sigma, and those reported by Zaitseva et al. [Kristallogra
fiya 36 (1991) 198] on the dependence of supersaturation sigma on temp
erature T to maintain a particular face growth rate R are analysed fro
m the standpoint of a power-law approach recently proposed by Sangwal
[J. Crystal Growth 192 (1998) 200]. It is demonstrated that the power-
law approach can satisfactorily be used to describe the experimental p
(sigma) data and to rescale the face growth rate data as normalised gr
owth rate R/T sigma(n) (with n = 1.5) falling onto a single Arrhenius-
type plot, with an activation energy of 39.2 kJ/mol for growth. (C) 19
