Lt. Eby et Td. Allen, PERCEPTIONS OF RELOCATION SERVICES IN RELOCATION DECISION-MAKING - ANEXPLORATORY FIELD-STUDY, Group & organization management, 23(4), 1998, pp. 447-469
The importance of relocation services is examined in a sample of 872 e
mployees and spouses. Results indicated that spouses rated all relocat
ion services higher than employees, with the exception of educational
information. Comparisons among male and female employees, single-earne
rs and dual-earners, as well as employees with children living at home
and those without children living at home also yielded significant di
fferences, primarily in terms of spouse employment assistance, depende
nt care information, and educational information. Results are discusse
d in terms of future research and practice, with an emphasis on explor
ing relocation issues for employees and spouses in a variety of marita
l and family arrangements.
