Some interesting characteristics Of the propagation of Schell-model be
ams in the Fraunhofer and Fresnel domains are discussed. Particularly,
the concept of interference field as support of the intensity transfe
r through the propagation of Schell-model beams. The primary source of
such a field are radiators pairs, which behave as partial coherent Yo
ung pairs in Fraunhofer domain. In Fresnel domain, the Fresnel zones i
ntroduce an additional Michelson-like modulation. Furthermore, the Fou
rier transform of a Schell-model beam is also a Schell-model beam, whi
ch is proportional to a triple correlation. So, each Schell-model beam
can be considered as the bispectrum of the another.
