The purpose of the current article is to offer methods for conducting
hypothesis testing associated with disattenuated validity coefficients
that overcome potential limitations of some previously suggested appr
oaches. Through casting classical test theory's notion of reliability
in the form of structural path models, such hypothesis testing may be
accomplished in a fairly straightforward manner using hierarchically r
elated structural equation models. Methods for hypothesis testing of s
ingle disattenuated correlations, as well as for testing of independen
t and dependent disattenuated correlations, are presented.
