Abstract
The effects of UV and gamma Gd2.6Ca0.4Mg0.25Zr0.65Ga4.1O12 crystals ar e studied. Under irradiation, the crystals take on yellow-brown color due to the absorption centered at 24000 cm(-1). The formation mechanis m of F+-centers, considered to be responsible for the coloration, is d iscussed.
