Ma. Markell et Sl. Deno, EFFECTS OF INCREASING ORAL READING - GENERALIZATION ACROSS READING TASKS, The Journal of special education, 31(2), 1997, pp. 233-250
In this study, individual performance in reading aloud was manipulated
experimentally, and the associated effects of these manipulations on
comprehension measures were examined for individual cases. Results rev
ealed that large but not small increases in reading aloud from text ar
e indicative of improved performance on traditional comprehension task
s. Additional analyses revealed that criterion levels of oral reading
performance are related to accuracy in answering comprehension questio
ns.
