Density of molten potassium lithium niobate (KLN) was studied using an
improved Archimedean method. It was found that the density of the mol
ten KLN depended on time remarkably. The density of the KLN increases
with time after melting and then tends to a steady value, The time for
the density becoming a steady value depends on temperature, i.e., the
temperature is lower, the time is longer for the density becoming a s
teady value. The time dependence of the density also changed with chan
ging composition of the molten KLN.
