Abstract
Crystal structure of Pr2Ti2O7, a member of the A(2)B(2)O(7) ferroelect ric family, was determined by single-crystal x-ray diffraction, Pr2Ti2 O7 has a monoclinic structure with a = 7.704(2) Angstrom, b = 5.485(1) Angstrom, c = 12.996(5) Angstrom, and beta = 98.51(3)degrees; sp. gr. P2(1), Z = 4; R-hkl = 0.045. Analysis of OTiO and TiOTi bond angles a nd bond lengths reveals marked differences between the structures of l ayers in A(2)B(2)O(7) and the perovskite structure.
