Cm. Franco et al., DETECTION OF LISTERIA-MONOCYTOGENES ON SELECTIVE MEDIA WITHOUT SUBCULTURING IN FOOD-PROCESSING PLANTS, Archiv für Lebensmittelhygiene, 48(3), 1997, pp. 54-56
Results of Listeria analysis in cheese, poultry and other samples from
dairy and poultry processing plant (973 samples) using the overlay te
chnique described by BLANCO et al. (1989) to detect and count haemolyt
ic Listeria colonies are reported. The overlay technique was found to
be specially useful to count and detect haemolytic Listeria (in most o
f cases L. monocytogenes) ''in situ'', on the isolation selective agar
, in samples with more than one species of Listeria (64 % poultry samp
les).
